Venue: Newark's Riverside Park (opposite Newark Castle)
Bees are in peril from toxic chemicals and need our support.
๐Saturday 20th May is World Bee Day and a coalition of people from different local environmental groups will be joining a family-friendly march in Newark, to stand up for our precious pollinators.
The protest aims to highlight the government's decision to allow an exemption to the ban on bee-killing pesticides for use on this year's sugar beet crop.
We will be assembling in Newark's Riverside Park https://goo.gl/maps/g7dHtdgvvVMBpmaZA opposite the castle at 11.00 am.
Come dressed in bee-themed colours or just come as you are! There will be a carnival atmosphere with drummers and plenty of colour. The march will converge on the marketplace for a performative element before circling the town centre and finishing up at the castle. We will then return to Riverside Park for a picnic lunch around 1 pm.
There are plans for a simultaneous protest in East Anglia (another major beet-growing area).
Please join us at 11.00 am Riverside Park opposite Newark Castle ๐๐บ๐
